Bomb defused south of Nassiriya

THI-QAR / Aswat al-Iraq: An anti-bomb squad on Tuesday managed to defuse a bomb planted in western Thi-Qar province, a statement from the Thi-Qar police said.
“A bomb expert defused a local-made bomb planted under a car in al-Eikr village in south of Nassiriya,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The police detonated 1.5 ton of explosives and bombs recently seized,” it said.
Nassiriya, the capital of Thi-Qar, is 360 km south of Baghdad.
