8 wanted men arrested in Wassit

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi army and police forces arrested eight wanted people in a raid in northern Wassit, a local security source said on Monday.

“The operation embraced a number of houses in al-Wahda neighborhood, 150 km north of Kut city,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He pointed out that the operation relied on intelligence tips and aimed at executing an arrest warrant issued by the investigating judge of Kut Court.
The source did not mention further details.
Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
