Al-Qaeda leader, wanted man detained in Babel

BABEL / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi security forces on Friday arrested al-Qaeda leader and a wanted man during two separate incidents in north of Babel, a police source said.
“Acting on a tip off, the forces raided the hideout of Omar Abdul Hadi, al-Qaeda leader, in al-Askandariya district in north of Hilla and arrested him,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The man is accused of being involved in murders and displacing operations in the region,” he also said.
Meanwhile, the same source said that a security force launched a crackdown operation in Jarf al-Sakhr region in northwest of Hilla, where a wanted man was arrested.
Hilla, the capital of Babel province, lies 100 km south of Baghdad.
