Weapons cache seized in southern Baghdad

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi-U.S. combined forces seized a number of arms and ammunition in southern Baghdad, according to a release issued by the Multi-National Forces (MNF) in Iraq.

“A combined patrol of Iraqi police and MNF seized 200-300 bullets (7.62 mm) and one mortar sell (60 mm) in Abu Dsheer area, southern Baghdad,” said the release that was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The forces also seized five bags loaded with different guns in Arab Jbor area,” it added.

“The forces seized one roadside bomb and one mortar shell in al-Masafi area,” it noted.

“The forces confiscated 16 riffles and 47 pistols in al-Resala neighborhood,” the release asserted.
