“Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday morning (Feb. 11) attacked a U.S. patrol of three vehicles on the main street in central Tikrit using hand grenades,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The attackers injured three U.S. soldiers and damaged a Hummer,” he also said.
“U.S. forces sealed off the area and rushed the wounded to a U.S. medical facility,” he noted.
A source from the joint coordination center in Tikrit confirmed the incident, without giving more details.
