Soldier killed, officer, policeman wounded in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: An Iraqi army soldier was killed on Monday and an officer and a policeman were wounded in two separate incidents in western and southeast of Mosul, a security source said.

“A soldier was killed and an officer was wounded in a car accident in al-Salamiya intersection in southeast of Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“A policeman was injured when unknown gunmen attacked his patrol near al-Jisr al-Khames in western Mosul,” he added.

He did not give more details.

Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
