Hostage released, kidnapper arrested near Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Army forces on Sunday released a hostage and arrested one of his kidnappers near Mosul city, according to a military source.
“On Sunday, a force from the second division, stationed in Mosul city, freed a hostage kept in an agricultural area in a village affiliated with Wana district (35 km north of Mosul city),” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“One of those involved in the kidnap was arrested,” the source added.
“The released hostage, an owner of a real estate office, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen from his house in al-Rashidiya area, northern Mosul, during a late hour on Saturday (Feb. 7) night,” the source explained.
Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
