Gunman arrested after clashes with police in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: A gunman was arrested after being wounded in clashes with security forces in western Mosul city on Saturday, a security source said.

“The gunman was wounded in clashes between an armed group and policemen in al-Yarmuk neighborhood, western Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“He was taken to a hospital under tight guard,” the source said, not revealing more information.

Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
