URGENT / IHEC announces 90% of election results

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission started on Thursday announcing 90% of the results of the provincial council elections five days after they were held in 14 out of Iraq’s 18 provinces.

Faraj al-Hadari, the IHEC chief, earlier told Aswat al-Iraq news agency that the results will be announced as of 05:00 p.m. Baghdad local time Thursday (Feb. 5).
