IED blast near candidate’s house in Babel

BABEL / Aswat al-Iraq: An improvised explosive device (IED) went off near the house of a candidate in southern Babel on Sunday, causing severe damage to the building, a security source in the province said.
“An IED went off near the house of a candidate running for the Iraqi National Congress (INC) party in the area of al-Sayahai, (5 km) south of Hilla, causing severe damage to the house but leaving no casualties,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He did not mention the candidate’s name.
Hilla, the capital city of Babel, lies 100 km south of Baghdad.
