Missiles, IEDs found near Nassiriya

THI-QAR / Aswat al-Iraq: An ammunition cache on Sunday was found in an area north of Nassiriya city, according to the relations and media chief in Thi-Qar’s police department.

“In light of intelligence tips, emergency forces have managed to seize a cache containing 37 rockets and locally-made explosive charges in al-Fadaa neighborhood (5km north of Nassiriya city),” Col. Sadeq al-Mashrafawi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The seized munitions were taken to the explosives division, Mashrafawi added.

Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 380 km south of Baghdad.
