2 IEDs defused in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi army personnel defused two improvised explosive devices in two separate incidents in western Mosul on Sunday, a military intelligence source in the city said.
“A force from the 2nd Division’s 6th Brigade stationed in Mosul defused an IED without incident in al-Islah al-Ziraie area, western Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Another 6th Brigade force dealt with a second IED in Haramat area, also western Mosul, without incident,” the source said, adding the IED was a cannon shell prepared to explode.
He did not give further details.
Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
