Northern Baghdad casualties up to 4 killed, 10 injured

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The casualties from the car bomb explosion that ripped through al-Aadhamiya region in northern Baghdad on Wednesday rose to four dead and 10 wounded, a police source said.
“A booby-trapped car went off near the royal cemetery in al-Aadamiya, targeting the motorcade of the President of the Islamic university, Ziyad al-Aani, killing four and injuring 10, including two bodyguards,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Al-Aani was not hurt in the blast,” he added.
A police source had said a civilian was killed and four others were wounded on Wednesday in a car bomb explosion in northern Baghdad.
“Security forces sealed off the region, while ambulances rushed the wounded to the nearby al-Nuaaman hospital,” he added.
