13 suspected gunmen arrested in Hilla

BABEL / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Wednesday arrested 13 suspected gunmen in Hilla after the explosion that killed a civilian earlier in the province, a media source said.
“Police forces waged a crackdown operation in al-Asriya village in al-Askandariya district, north of Hilla, where they arrested 13 suspected gunmen,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The same source had said earlier that an improvised explosive device (IED) stuck to a civilian vehicle detonated in al-Asriya village in al-Askandariya district, north of Hilla, killing the driver.
Hilla, the capital of Babel, lies 100 km south of Baghdad.
