Ammo seized in Wassit

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Monday seized 38 cannon balls in western Wassit, said a source from the province’s police.

“The shells were hidden in an underground location in a farmland in Bassmaiya area, 12 km west of Kut,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The shells were found in light of intelligence tips, he added.
Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
