Gang captured in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish security forces on Wednesday arrested a kidnapping gang during a security operation in southern Kirkuk, a security source said.
“Acting on a tip-off, the forces arrested the three-people gang in Wahed Azar neighborhood in southern Kirkuk on Wednesday (Jan. 14),” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The gang kidnapped a five-year-old child last year and released him after their parents paid a ID 7,000-ransom,” he also said.
Kirkuk is 250 km northeast of Baghdad.
