7 anti-aircraft missiles seized in Wassit

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: Security patrols from the national information office seized an amount of arms and ammunition, including seven anti-aircraft missiles, that was hidden underground in the west of Kut city, a security source from Wassit province said on Tuesday.

“The cache, which also included three mortar shells and several guns, was found in al-Ahrar district, 25 km west of Kut,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The arms and ammunition are recently manufactured,” he said.

Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
