Army kills senior AQI figure in Tikrit

SALAH AL-DIN / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi army forces on Saturday morning killed a senior figure of Al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI) Organization, eastern Tikrit, said a security source from the city. “Salih Jadallah al-Ajeeli was killed by a trap set by the Iraqi army on the road between Tikrit and Tooz, 90 km north-eastern Salah al-Din province,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq. He pointed out that the operation relied on accurate intelligence tips. “Al-Ajeeli is responsible for killing tens of Iraqi policemen and army servicemen in Tikrit and areas nearby,” the source added.Tikrit, the capital city of Salah al-Din province, lies 175 km north of Baghdad.
