Iraqi security forces nab 39 wanted individuals in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi security forces arrested 39 wanted individuals in a raid operation conducted through the past 24 hours, a military spokesman said.

“Iraqi security forces captured 39 individuals on a wanted lists during security operations conducted in different parts of Baghdad and seized five roadside bombs,” Maj. Gen. Qassem Atta, Spokesman for Baghdad Operations Command (BOC) told Aswat al-Iraq.  
“Forces also discovered quantities of weapons and munitions,” he added.

Since February 2007, Iraqi security forces have launched a large scale operation dubbed as Fardh al-Qanoon (Law Imposing) to crack down on gunmen and to assert the rule of law in Baghdad and its suburbs.
