6 wanted persons nabbed in Amara

MISSAN / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi army personnel on Wednesday arrested six wanted persons, including two antiquities smugglers, in Amara city, according to a military media source.
“Today, forces from the 10 th Division captured six wanted men in al-Hussein al-Qadeem neighborhood and Strip 28, downtown Amara city,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq.
“Those arrested included two smugglers of antiquities that have been seized at Baghdad International Airport,” the source noted, providing no further details.
Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs.
