5 wanted men arrested in Missan

MISSAN / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Thursday arrested five wanted men in central Amara city, the media director of the Missan police department said.

“Policemen arrested five persons, wanted for criminal cases in central Amara,” Colonel Sadeq Salam told Aswat al-Iraq.

“They were referred to the criminal investigation department,” he added, without providing further details.

Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs.
