Barzani to visit Teheran in coming days

ARBIL/ Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish government sources announced here today that President Masoud Barzani will visit Teheran in the coming few days.

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that Barzani will meet senior Iranian leaders to discuss joint issues.

No other details were given.

Barzani visited Teheran on 29 October 2011 for two days.

On the other hand, Kurdish premier Njirvan Barzani began yesterday a visit to the Iranian capital, during which he met vice-president for international affairs and minister of foreign affairs, amid "cordial" atmosphere, as described by Kurdish sources.

These visits are connected with chronic and expanding conflicts between the Kurdish region and the central government, so such visits have special importance because Teheran has cordial relations with the two parties.
