KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: A joint force arrested here today 8 members of the so-called Iraq Islamic State with terrorism charges and seizing 30 kgs of TNT and motorcycle in expanded security operation south west Kirkuk, according to police sources.

 

 

The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the operation started at dawn today, in two areas, Riyadh area, 45 km south west Kirkuk and Haweeja area, 65 km south west Kirkuk.

 

 

No other details were given.

 

 

Kirkuk, center of the province, lies 280 km north east the capital, Baghdad.

 

 

It is one of the main disputed areas between Baghdad and Arbil that witnesses semi-daily violent operations against the security forces and the civilians, alike.
