ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: The Kurdish region's Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources stressed today its goals to reach a state of self-sufficiency, pointing that 100 billion Iraqi dinars were allocated to support agricultural investments.
Minister Serwan Baban, in a press conference on coming agricultural fair, attended by Aswat al-Iraq, confirmed that the ministry increased its assistance to farmers from 50% to 80% to buy agricultural equipment.
More than 350 companies form 26 Arab and foreign counties will participate in the coming fair, due 26-29 November instant.
Arbil, center of the province, lies 349 km north east of the capital, Baghdad.
