 Nujaifi, UNDP discuss human rights in Iraq

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi discussed with the United Nations Development Program delegation the democratic transformation in Iraq, the importance of developing parliamentary work, as well as the Human Rights Commission and women participation in the public life.

In a statement by his office, Nujaifi received Mrs.
Helene Clark, where they discussed the UN role in Iraq.

Nujaifi stressed the UN role in the coming elections and developing legislations to suit the constitution.'

He added that the Parliament approved 145 laws, pointing the political difficulties that hinder the endorsement of other laws.
