NAJAF / Aswat al-Iraq: The first international trade fair was opened in Najaf on Thursday with the participation of more than 100 European, Chinese and Iraqi companies.
"More than 25 Iraqi companies from different ministries take part in the event," Mohammad Jassem al-Janabi, the managing director of the al-Aared company, which is organizing the event, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, noting that the Iranian companies did not participate.
"The fair is a great opportunity to attract foreign companies to the province," Governor Adnan al-Zarfi said.
Al-Janabi called on all companies to participate in the exhibition through a mechanism be found to participate, adding that the holy city stable security is clear, as well as the presence of the Najaf International Airport which receives flights from around the world.
