BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: The US embassy, represented by USAID, and the Iraqi ministry of agriculture held meetings to consider assisting Iraq in developing its agricultural sector with US financing.
The meetings were held on 15-17 January instant to study a project to develop agricultural investments and using modern agricultural technologies for better production competition.
In a statement by the US embassy, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, the project will amend the laws connected with the agricultural sector aiming to increase the investments of the private sector.
The project, which completed its fifth year, contributed $179 million to the Iraqi agricultural sector.
