DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: An Iraqi civilian has been killed and three others injured in a sticking bomb blast in Baaquba, the center of northeast Iraq’s Diala Province on Sunday, according to a Diala security source.
“A sticking bomb blew off in a taxi in central Baaquba, killing its driver and wounding three university students, who were in the car,” the security source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The security source said that the wounded students were driven to a nearby hospital for treatment, whilst the security bodies began an investigation about the incident.
Diala Province had witnessed several security violations, most outstanding of which had been an attack on its Council on Tuesday, by a booby-trapped car, followed by an attack to break through the Council’s building by a group of armed men, followed by an exchange of fire with the Council’s protection battalion, that caused 8 people killed and 27 others injured.
Baaquba, the center of Diala Province, is 57 km to the northeast of Baghdad.
