KARBALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Chairwoman of Immigrants and Displaced Commission in the province called the Iraqi government for more financial allocations to cover the costs for immigration expenses of Iraqi families.
Balquees al-Sharifi told Aswat al-Iraq that Karbala province hosted more than 500.000 displaces, which will affect the development and re-construction process there.
She added that the total figure of residents in the province reached to 1.1 million, but "governmental allocations are made according to the total figures of the residents, not taking into consideration the immigration movement into the province".
"This increase will affect the levels of education, housing and living standards", she confirmed.
Karbala, center of the province, lies 108 km south west of the capital, Baghdad.
