DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Four members of one family have been killed and three others injured in attack on the house of the family, who returned recently to its home area, in explosive blasts against their house in west Diala, a police source reported on Wednesday.

“A group of unknown armed men have blown up several explosive charges in a house, belonging to a family that had returned for its home recently in west Diala’s al-Hadid area, killing 4 of its members and wounding 3 others,” the police source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He said that Al-Hadid area, situated on the main road connecting Diala with Baghdad, had been one of the main areas for the activity of al-Qaeda Organization.

Baaquba, the center of Diala Province, is 57 km to the northeast of Baghdad.
