NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: 21 out of 35 prisoners, who escaped from a prison in Mosul city, the center of northern Iraq’s Ninewa Province, have been rearrested by the security forces in the city on Thursday, the Chairman of Ninewa’s Security & Defense Committee reported.
“The security forces have managed to arrest 21 prisoners, who had escaped from a Mosul prison early on Thursday and 14 out of the 35 escaped prisoners are still at large,” the Abdul-Rahim al-Shimmary told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, adding that all the escaped prisoners were charged according to the Iraqi Criminal Law’s Article-4 - Terrorism.
Mosul the center of Ninewa Province, is 405 km to the north of Baghdad.
