Basra discusses establishing 3000 M/W with Kuwaiti company
BASRA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Basra governor Khalaf Abdul Samad discussed today with a Kuwaiti company establishing a thermal power station with a capacity of 3000 megawatts.
Samad told Aswat al-Iraq that the discussions were held with Khurafi International to build the power station on three stages.
The first stage is expected to reach 500 megawatts in production, while the other two stages should be finished in time according to international standards.
Basra has the highest temperature grades among Iraqi provinces with a high percentage of humidity.
Basra, center of the province, lies 590 km south of the capital, Baghdad.
