Demonstration in Anbar’s Rawa city, demanding release of detainees.

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq – Dozens of citizens of west Iraq Anbar Province’s city of Rawa took to the streets on Saturday, demanding the release of detainees, employment and public services.

 

“Dozens of Rawa citizens have demonstrated today (Saturday), demanding the release of prisoners, employment chances and public services,” one of the organizers of the demonstration, Hazim al-Mohammedy, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

 

He said that the Mayor of Rawa and a number of its municipal council members have received the demands of the demonstrators, attended by tribal chieftains, writers and intellectuals.

 

Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province, is 110 kms to the west of Baghdad.
