BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki discussed on Wednesday with Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Wahidi cooperation between the two countries to strengthen security and stability to combat terrorism, according to a statement released from al-Maliki's office.
"The premier underlined that Iraq seeks to establish good relations with all countries, mainly Iran," said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The latest developments in the region require more understanding and coordination among all countries," he said.
The Iranian minister expressed his country's readiness to cooperate with Iraq in different fields to achieve security and stability of the region.
