WASSIT/ Aswat al-Iraq: Police authorities foiled today a terrorist attempt directed against the civilians and the security force, north of Kut that led to arresting 3 wanted with three explosives, according to police sources.

General Hussein Abdul Hadi told Aswat al-Iraq that the operation was due in Suwaira area, 135 km north of Kut city.

The terrorists were trying an implement an operation against the civilians and the security forces, as reported by General Hadi.

He added that the operation was made upon intelligence information.

No other details were given.

Kut, center of the province, lies 180 km south east of the capital, Baghdad.
