2/25/2011 6:11 PM

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Sixteen demonstrators in al-Falluja were wounded in a random shooting by security forces after they stormed a government compound in the city, an informed source said.

“A number of protesters raided the compound, that includes the mayoralty and the local council, and set their content ablaze,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“Security forces opened fire randomly at the protesters, leaving 16 wounded,” he added.

Falluja, the largest city in the troubled predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 45 km northwest of Baghdad.
