NINEWA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Informed sources in Ninewa province reported that the ministerial committee headed by deputy premier Hussein al-Shahristani was delayed due to bad weather, amid demonstrators' rejection to meet them.
The source told Aswat al-Iraq that the visit was delayed till tomorrow, Sunday, due to heavy rains in Mosul that lasted more than week.
Mosul Ulama' announced today their rejection to meet the committee, describing them "delaying matters to gain time".
In a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, Mosul Ulama' said that "the committee has no authority to solve the crisis because there are un-negotiable demands, including withdrawing the army and federal police from the cities".
On the other hand, informed sources told Aswat al-Iraq that there are consultations among the representatives of the demonstrators to have a unified stand to reject this visit.
A few media organs were invited to cover this meeting, which details were unknown.
Since 22 December 2012, Anbar province witnessed massive demonstrations and sit-in, in addition to Ninewa, Salahal-Din, Diala, Kirkuk and Baghdad demanding the release of innocent detainees and prisoners, while others called for toppling Maliki's government.
