KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: The Asayesh forces announced on Monday that they arrested a gang belonging to al-Qaeda's Islamic State of Iraq armed group in Kirkuk.

 

"A Tukoman teacher presented a complaint about being threatened and blackmailed by an unknown group which demanded him to pay $20,0000 otherwise they will kidnap his daughter," Ferhad Hama Ali, a media official of Asayesh in Kirkuk, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

 

"The forces managed to arrest the three-person gang in al-Khadraa neighborhood, southwestern Kirkuk," he added.

 

 "They confessed to belonging to al-Qaeda's Islamic State of Iraq and their responsibility in several kidnapping operations," he noted.
