BASRA/ Aswat al-Iraq: Tribal sheiks, clergymen and government officials demonstrated here today against cancelling Questioning and Justice and Terrorism Laws, as reported.

 

 

Sheikh Khalid Mohammed Muhsin told Aswat al-Iraq that "hundreds of Basra citizens demonstrated today to support Premier Nouri al-Maliki's government and countering Baathist onslaught.

 

 

Saleem Oda, university student, stated to Aswat al-Iraq that "they want us to return backwards, but we will not permit that".

 

 

He criticized denominational attitudes covered with national slogans.
