Nujaifi cuts off his visit to India

 BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Parliament media department announced today that Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi cut off his official visit to India and to return to Baghdad following the brain stroke that hit Iraqi president Jalal Talabani.

In a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, Nujaifi is expected to arrive in Baghdad tomorrow, Wednesday.

Nujaifi was on an official visit upon invitation from Indian parliament speaker.

President Jalal al-Talabani was hit by a brain stroke, according to Iraqiya TV.

The semi-official Iraqiya TV announced that the medical team is trying to stabilize his health condition.

Talabani's office reported earlier that "the President exerted extra efforts in the recent days to achieve a state of stability in the country".

The stroke hit President Talabani Monday evening.

Yesterday, Talabani and Premier Nouri al-Maliki met to discuss the crisis between Baghdad and Arbil.

Both sides agreed to invite a Kurdish delegation to discuss the matters in Baghdad.

President Talabani returned mid of September to Iraq after 3-month medical treatment in Germany.
