95% of Iraqiya members reject Obaidi for defense

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: About 95% of the members of Iyad Allawi’s al-Iraqiya bloc refuse naming Khalid al-Obaidi for the defense portfolio, an MP from the bloc said on Saturday.
“Ninety-five percent of al-Iraqiya members are not convinced with naming Obaidi for the defense minister post.
If the names of ministers of security portfolios were passed, there would be immense reverberations inside the Iraqi parliament and on the Iraqi streets,” Nahid al-Dayni told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The most prominent names for the post are Salim Dalli and Hisham al-Darraji,” she added.
