Washington serious to meet Iraqi defensive military needs, statement
BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Commander of US forces for Central Command expressed his government's seriousness to meet Iraqi defensive needs.
During a meeting between Premier Nouri al-Maliki and US General James N.
Mattis, Commander of US Central Command, Maliki stressed necessity to implement Iraqi-US strategic agreement, particularly in the military cooperation.
Maliki stressed Iraqi need for weaponry to protect it is sovereignty, independence and wealth.
He confirmed necessity for cooperation to counter terrorism.
General Mattis confirmed US readiness to meet Iraqi weaponry needs, taking into consideration the time factor to supply them.
