ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s President, Jalal Talabani, has attended in Arbil on Thursday the funeral of Mother of the President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani, who passed away on Wednesday and her corpse was driven to the Region early in the day.
President Talabani said during the funeral, attended by Aswat al-Iraq news agency that “The Late Lady had an important role in the Kurdish people’s struggle, saying that “A woman is behind every Great Man.”
Talabani had arrived in Arbil on Thursday morning, to attend the funeral of Massoud Barzani’s Mother in Barzan area in northern Iraq’s Kurdistan Region.
The funeral was attended by government officials from all over Iraq, along with politicians and party members.
President Massoud Barzani’s Mother, Lady Hamayil Khan, had passed away in Austria after a long struggle against disease.
