Corruption and smuggling in CBI obliged referring to Integrity Commission, Nujaifi

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi said today that "corruption" cases in the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) "obliged me to refer the matter to the Integrity Commission for investigation".

In a press conference, attended by Aswat al-Iraq, he pointed out that "the investigation procedures taken were right according to the law and constitution".

He added that the measures were taken "following 9-month surveillance for the work of the Bank where cases of corruption, money laundering and smuggling were found".
