NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: A gunman belongs to al-Qaeda's Islamic State of Iraq armed group was arrested on Thursday in eastern Mosul, a military source said.
"A force from the 2nd division of the Iraqi army waged a security operation in Soumer neighborhood, eastern Mosul, where they arrested Abdullah al-Aadhabm the administrative official of the Islamic State of Iraq," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
"The operation was launched in light of intelligence information," he added, without giving more details.
Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
