Hashimi and Mutlaq cases al-Iraqiya's priorities at National Conference
2/10/2012 7:33 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Al-Iraqiya Bloc's spokesman Haidar al-Mulla announced that the two cases of Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi and deputy premier Saleh al-Mutlaq shall be of priority in the National Conference's preparatory committee.

Mulla added that his bloc "will try to finalize the political dimensions of Hashimi's case and the constitutional breach of Mutlaq's case, then move to the judicial system to solve them finally".

Iraq is witnessing an acute crisis along the accusations made against vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi for "terrorism" and the move to demote al-Mutlaq from his post, both leading members in al-Iraqiya Bloc.

In an attempt to solve the crisis, President Jalal Talabani suggested holding a national conference for all political blocs to find a way out.
