BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Premier Nouri al-Maliki re-iterated his suggestion to joint administration of the disputed areas under the supervision of the federal government, according to a statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq.

During his meeting with Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi, both sides discussed the efforts made by Nujaifi to solve the differences with the Kurdish region.

Maliki stressed necessity "to abandon war languages" and to "return to 2009 agreement on the security responsibility of the intermingled areas", which proposed "joint check-points between Peshmerga and army forces, under the supervision of the federal government".

Nujaifi started today a series of political meetings in Baghdad and Arbil to reach "drastic solutions to end the conflict and save the country from an internal strife that may lead to grave consequences".
