Peshmerga official downplays Maliki's statements on entering Arbil

ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: Undersecretary of the Kurdistan Peshmerga ministry down played statements made by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who said that the Iraqi army can enter Arbil and Sulaimaniya.
 
Anwar Haji told a Kurdistan website that "we will not allow the Iraqi army to approach one inch inside the Kurdistan territories from al-Khabour to Khanaqin."
 
Al-Maliki had said that there are no limits on the Iraqi army's movement and it is according to the constitution is a federal army and could deploy in Basra or Zakho and no one has the right to prevent it.
 
"Kirkuk is an Iraqi province and the Iraqi army, according to the constitution, could be in Kirkuk, Arbil, Salah al-Din and Sulaimaniya," al-Maliki said in a TV show.
