1/21/2013 4:26 PM

ANBAR/ Aswat al-Iraq:  Iraqi Mufti Sheikh Abdul Malik al-Saadi announced that the participation with Anbar and other provinces' sit-ins is "a legitimate matter which equals to Jihad for God".

Sheikh al-Saadi told Aswat al-Iraq that he "hailed the demonstrators who came leaving their work to inform the government of their demands, despite the cold weather".

He warned the demonstrators of the "intruders and saboteurs by foreign and internal elements", calling them to counter any suspicious plan against their move".

On the other hand, he called the army and polices forces not to suppress the demonstrators.

Since 22 December 2012, Anbar province witnessed massive demonstrations and sit-in, in addition to Ninewa, Salahal-Din, Diala, Kirkuk and Baghdad demanding the release of innocent detainees and prisoners, while others called for toppling Maliki's government.

Ramadi, center of the province, lies 110 km west of the capital, Baghdad.
