Oclan calls negotiations to unarm PKK party, newspaper
12/31/2012 10:07 PM

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Kurdish leader in Turkey Abdullah Oclan called the Turkish government to provide direct contact with the PKK party, and better prison condition, as prelude to find a peaceful solution to the continued conflict in the country.

Turkish Hurriyet daily reported quoted Oclan saying that the solution should be political and psychological.

The paper quoted some Turkish official who met Oclan in his prison in an isolated island in Marmora Sea that the PKK fighters will be permitted to leave Turkey to live in exile, provided not in countries that have joint borders with Turkey.

Oclan and PKK party were fighting the Turkish government since the mid-1980s to get the national rights of the Kurdish people living in Turkey.
